Blaise Fernandes has been promoted to the newly created positionof vice president and managing director of Warner Bros Pictures India PrivateLimited.

Fernandes will oversee all of the company's businesses in the sub-continentwith particular focus on film, and will liaise with Warner Bros divisional andregional chiefs on corporate strategy.

He will report to chairman and chief executive officer Barry Meyerand president and chief operating officer Alan Horn through Richard Fox, executivevice president, international, at Warner Bros.

'This is a very exciting time in all areas of the Indian filmbusiness, from production to exhibition,' Fox said. 'With filmsacross the creative spectrum - from Hollywood blockbusters to our locallyproduced pictures - and Blaise heading up our operations, the possibilitiesavailable to us are endless.'

Fernandes joined the studio in 1990 as marketing manager forIndia, rising two years later to managing director. Prior to that he served fouryears at Walt Disney Consumer Products in India.
