Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures reported a successful AFM led by strong sales on Cheryl Hines’ directorial debut Serious Moonlight starring Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton.

Kristen Bell and Justin Long also star in the romantic comedy written by the late Adrianne Shelly about a high-powered lawyer who learns her husband is having an affair and ties him to their toilet until he promises to love her again.

Myriad acquired the film during Cannes and screened at AFM. Deals have closed with UPI for the UK and Scandinavia, Notro for Spain, BIM for Italy, 21st Century for Australia and New Zealand, Nikkatsu for Japan, VC Films for Portugal and Myndform for Iceland

Further rights sold to Eagle Films (Middle East), SPI (Eastern Europe), Swen (Latin America), Golden Village (Singapore), DDDream (China), Star TV (pan Asia pay-TV), ANS/D Productions (Turkey), Soyuz-Video (Baltics and Russia), VideoVision (South Africa), Film Elysees (Benelux), Spentzos (Greece), Forum (Israel) and Cinesky (airlines).

Myriad chief Kirk D’Amico gave the Sebastian Gutierrez ensemble comedy Women In Trouble its first major market screening. Carla Gugino stars alongside Emmanuel Chriqui, Adrianne Palicki, Connie Britton, Marley Shelton and Simon Baker, and rights went to Swen (Latin America), VC Films (Portugal), VAPT (Czech Republic), Studio Solutions (Thailand and Taiwan), Myndform (Iceland), Programs 4 Media (Romania) and VideoVision (South Africa).

Pre-sales on The Electric Slide, the upcoming story of Los Angeles bank robber Larry Dodson starring Ewan McGregor and in-demand Carey Mulligan, continued apace. Deals closed with Nordisk (Scandinavia), Rialto (Switzerland), ANS/D Productions (Turkey), Myndform (Iceland), Monolith (Poland) and European Film Partners (Benelux).

Myriad sold rights to Programs 4 Media (Bulgaria and Romania), AQS (the Czech Republic), MG Film (formerYugoslavia), Spentzos (Greece), RTL (Hungary), Eagle Films (Middle East), Valentim (Portugal), Star TV (pan Asian Pay-TV), and Cinesky for the airlines.
