Bille August takes train to Lisbon
Perrine Teze’s PTZ International is setting up and selling the $10m film, which will shoot early next year.
Bille August is gearing up to direct the adaptation of Pascal Mercier’s novel Night Train To Lisbon. The $10m film is being set up and sold by Perrine Teze’s PTZ International and will shoot in early 2011.
Produced by Peter Reichenback, the film is a C-Films and Studio Hamburg Produktion effort. The story sees its protagonist on a quest for answers after finding a book by a mysterious Portuguese author.
Teze’s company, which she founded last year and received an injection of equity and she is not looking to work with five to six films a year. Starting with financing and pre-sales, the former Ciby 2000 and TF1 executive says she is keen to see films through from start to finish.
Also on her upcoming slate are the next film from Vagina Monologues creator Eve Ensler and a film from Olivier Gondry (Michel’s brother) called Milligram Of Happiness, which will shoot this summer.
