Short films by the two actors will bring this year’s Critics Week sidebar to a close on May 20.

Short films from actors-turned directors Kirsten Dunst and James Franco will close the Cannes’ Critics Week sidebar on May 20.

Dunst’s Bastard (pictured), which is her second short, is also screening this week at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is about a young couple in crisis who find their way to a desert motel where three odd men plan to meet them for questionable reasons. Brian Geraghty, Juno Temple, Lukas Haas and Joel David Moore star.

Franco’s The Clerk’s Tale is his third short film and is based on the poem by Spencer Reece.
