The New Horizons International Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland will launch a new industry event, Polish Days, to spotlight new local films for the international industry.

The first edition of Polish days will run during the festival July 21-23.

About 100 buyers, sales agents, distributors, programmers and producers interested in Polish cinema are expected to attend.

The programme will include new films and also works-in-progress.

The New Horizons IFF had about 400 industry professionals present in Wrocław in 2011.

Joanna Łapińska, the festival’s Artistic Director, said: “The idea came after feedback from international professionals wanting to see the very latest Polish films on an exclusive basis. This the perfect time for programmers and buyers to attend the event - 21-23 July are final programming days for Venice, Toronto and San Sebastian and right time for Sundance, Rotterdam and Berlin to see works in progress.”

Poland produces about 40 films annually.
