Castle Rock Entertainment is producing Marc Lawrence’s untitled project that reunites the writer-director with his lead from Music And Lyrics and Two Weeks Notice and also stars Marisa Tomei. Glen Basner will handle all international sales.

Castle Rock Entertainment’s Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer are producing and principal photography is scheduled to commence in early April in New York state once casting is complete.

Grant plays a down-at-heel British former best screenplay Oscar-winner who meets a single mother while teaching screenwriting at a small East Coast college.

The deal was made based on Lawrence’s script.

FilmNation comes off an impressive 2012 when combined grosses for all its 18 films amounted to $469m. Mirror Mirror led the pack on $123.4m followed by Looper on $111.1m.

The sales line-up includes Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects starring Jude Law, Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum, Genius with Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender, Alexander Payne’s Nebraska, and Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring starring Emma Watson, which A24 will release in the US in June.
