Number one openings inItaly, Japan and Taiwan were the chief drivers in a $13.1m weekend haul for TheLeague Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG) that raised its international running total to $68.7m.
Fox International'sfantasy/adventure grossed $2.4m from 337 screens in Italy, $2.2m from 362 inJapan and $1.2m from 91 in Taiwan.
There were a couple ofdecent holdovers as France stayed top on $1.7m from 553 for $4.6m and Germanyadded $1.4m from 704 for $8.1m, both in their second weeks.
LXG played on 3,748 screens in 32 markets.
Legally Blonde 2 grossed $917,000 for a $28.7m total. The topperformers were Spain, where it opened outside the top three on $404,000 from200, and Thailand, which produced $127,000 from 58.
The distributor has limitedrights to the military thriller Basic and opened it number two in Brazil on $298,000 from 113 and numberthree in Mexico on $402,000 from 233.
A $700,000 weekend totalraised the cumulative score to $1.3m in Fox International markets.
