New Zealand Film has signedoff on several sales on Toa Fraser's No.2 which won the audience award for drama in the World Cinema section atSundance and later screened in Berlin.

The film has been sold to Spain (Avalon), Scandinavia (CCV), Switzerland (Xenith), Greece (Prooptiki), Thailand (Pacific Entertainment) and Argentina (Telexcel). These deals follow a previously reportedsale to Germany's Arsenal Films at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Head of sales and marketingKathleen Drumm told Screendaily that sheis also in advanced discussions on deals for France and North America.

Working Title signed on torelease the family-themed drama in the UK and BVI picked up New Zealand and neighbouring Australia before it went into production. Miramax Films wasalso involved in the financing. BVI has already released No 2. locally and as of March 12 it had grossed $368,591 (NZ$578,780)from 35 screens in four weeks.

No. 2 wasproduced by Tim White (Ned Kelly),Lydia Livingstone and Philippa Campbell (Rain).White is already shooting another film for NZ Film - director Robert Sarkies'untitled drama about how the peaceful innocence of a tiny seaside village isshattered by one man.
