Salma Hayek, writer-director John Singleton, Hawaiian film-makerChristine Walker and the Sundance Institute's Native American InitiativesProgramme are to be honoured for their diverse producing work by the ProducersGuild of America (PGA).

The 2nd Annual Celebration of Diversity is due to take place inLos Angeles on Oct 1 and recognises producers whose work, in the words of thePGA "has broadened the industry's cultural horizons" and "stimulated nationaldiscussions on significant social issues."

Hayek's honour follows her producing role on this year'sOscar-winning Frida,while Singleton has consistently won acclaim for his portrayal of theAfrican-American community.

Christine Walker served as producer on Sundance winner AmericanSplendor, among others,and was founding director of the Minnesota Independent Film Fund.

SundanceInstitute's Native American Initiatives Programme supports indigenousfilm-making projects.
