Menachem Daum and Oren Rudavsky'sdocumentary Hiding and Seeking: Faith And Tolerance After The Holocaust and a restored print of Sidney M Goldin's shortYiddish spoof Cantor On Trialboth receive world premieres at the 13th annual New York Jewish Film Festival,which runs from Jan 14-29.
The event includes eight USand 13 New York premieres in a 29-title roster that includes Argentineanfilm-maker Eduardo Milewicz's romantic comedy Samy And I and Czech director Iva Svarcova's black comedy WhenGrandpa Loved Rita Hayworth.
Festival organisers havealso scheduled panel discussions and special events, including a screening ofAmerican director Marlaine Glicksman's The Commandment Keepers, a work-in-progress about the trials andtribulations of the 75 year-old Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation in Harlem.
These events include theJune film-makers/screenwriters lab, a month-long workshop that includes asecond screenwriters lab in its final week.
