The 30-year industry veteran becomes vp of features visual effects production and will be based in the company’s Venice, California, offices and reports to Jody Madden, who has been promoted to svp of global studio operations.

Lipman’s career has taken him to DreamWorks Animation, Framestore and USAnimation, where he served in senior executive roles.

“Digital Domain has grown significantly in the past few years – from a single studio to now seven locations worldwide,” Digital Domain Media Group CEO and chairman John Textor said. “Our talent base and digital production services have expanded, and we’ve expanded our leadership team accordingly to drive all areas of our feature film business.

“I am thrilled to have Jody and David leading visual effects, and Cliff Plumer, who is now an executive producer on Ender’s Game, leading our efforts in co-productions.”
