The veteran executive most recently served in the same capacity at the now defunct The Film Department.

Prior to The Film Department, Katz was production evp at The Yari Film Group where he oversaw Crash, The Illusionist and The Painted Veil.

He will be based in The Weinstein Company’s Los Angeles office and reports to Dimension chief Bob Weinstein.

Katz’s production credits include Law Abiding Citizen, One Hour Photo and Seabiscuit.
