IFC Films has picked up US rights to Canana Films' madcap Mexican drama I'm Gonna Explode (Voy A Explotar) and will push the film out later this year through its Festival On Demand VOD platform.

Gerardo Naranjo's film will screen in Berlin next month and charts the exploits of two mischoevous schoolboys who make off in one of their father's Volkswagen with a gun.

Juan Pablo de Santiago, Maria Deschamps and Daniel Gimenez Cacho star and Pablo Cruz produced.

IFC's Lizzie Nastro negotiated the deal with Adeline Fontan Tessaur of
Elle Driver.

'We are thrilled to work with Gerardo, Pablo and our friends at Canana
again.'

IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring said. 'We've always believed that Gerardo is one of the most talented new film-makers and with this film he's really made a big step forward.'

'I'm very excited to work with IFC Films again,' Cruz said. 'We appreciate the effort they make to bring international films to the US, giving these films an opportunity to be seen by a wide audience.'
