Jacqui Feeney has been promoted to chief executive officer of Australian pay-TV channel World Movies and Irene Anast has left her role of research and planning manager at pay TV platform Austar to take Feeney's old position of channel manager. Feeney replaces Hugh Watt, who retired from the business some time ago.

World Movies claims to be the only existing pay television channel dedicated to showcasing the best movies from around the world, irrespective of their original language. It screens on all three of Australia's pay TV platforms, and is paid for separately by subscribers. The channel is owned by a consortium that includes Kerry Stokes from the Seven Network and multicultural free-to-air broadcaster SBS, which plays a big part in purchasing decisions.
