Producer Igor Maiboroda and Finnish film-maker Aki Kaurismaki are seeking co-producers to complete Lenin biopic, Belief, Hope And Blood, which started shooting 18 months ago in Finland.

Several scenes from the film were shot at Kaurismaki's Sputnik Studios in Finland during summer 1998 using actor Igor Muzhzhukhin as the young Lenin. However the project has since failed to progress, although the producers hope to attract finance now that Klaus Maria Brandauer has expressed interest in playing Lenin as a grown man.

In addition, Nikita Mikhalkov is attached to the film to play the historical figure Alexamder Minin. Marina Dubrovina is attached to direct.

Already in the can are several scenes in which the young Lenin reminisces about his first encounter with young Finnish girl Marjatta, played by Finnish actress Maria Yarvenhelmi. The producers also plan a five-hour TV version of the film.
