Limelight Films, theLA-based fledgling production, financing and distribution company headed up byCharlie Chaplin's granddaughter Keira Chaplin, has picked up worldwide rightsto Vladimir Alenikov's The Gunand Dusan Kovacevic's Serbian comedy-drama The Professional.

Both films will screen atthe Montreal Film Festival in the World Competition programme.

The Gun was directed and written by Limelight's creativepartner Alenikov, whose credits include Time of Darkness and The Red One: Triumph.

Shot in real time over 15scenes, The Gun chronicles aweapon's journey through the hands of several unconnected individuals.

The Professional is the latest work from writer-director Kovacevicand follows a Serbian dissident who confronts his former tormentor after thefall of Slobodan Milosevic.

Kovacevic wrote thescreenplay for Emir Kusturica's comedy drama Underground, which won the Cannes Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1995.

Limelight launched inJanuary this year and is financed by parent company ADB-Swiss, a group ofinternational entertainment enterprises.

"Limelight's mission is topromote the work of talented individuals from around the world," companypresident Bruno Cavelier d'Esclavelles said in a statement.

"Alenikov and Kovacevic arecertainly more than 'talented individuals' - they are geniuses in their ownright."
