Lionsgate has picked up North American rights to the CG-animated familycomedy Happily N'Ever After.

Paul J Bolger directed from a screenplay by RobertMoreland that retells the story of Cinderella and styles her as the leader of aresistance group that takes on a posse of villains led by her stepmother.

John H Williams produced with BAF Berlin Animation Film and BFC BerlinerFilm Companie, with BFC chief executive officer Rainer Soehnlein serving asexecutive producer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sigourney Weaver, Freddie Prinze Jr, GeorgeCarlin, Wallace Shawn, and Andy Dick provide the voices.

"[Happily N'Ever After] is bursting with clever ideas, great jokes and delightfulcharacters, and the animation is first-rate," Lionsgate Family Entertainmentexecutive vice president Ken Katsumoto said. "Paul J Bolger, RobertMoreland and an inspired cast have made a film that's sure to be a hit with thewhole family."

Lionsgate's executive vicepresident of corporate operations Wayne Levin, Katsumoto, and senior vice presidentof legal and business affairs and acquisitions Wendy Jaffe negotiated the dealwith Odyssey Entertainment's Ralph Kamp and Volker Baas of BAF Berlin AnimationFilm on behalf of the filmmakers.
