Benjamin Herrmann and David Groenewold's new distribution company Majestic Filmverleih has added Doris Doerrie's Hanami and Alexander Adolph's documentary debut Con Man Confidential (Die Hochstapler) to its release line-up.

Hanami, which will star Monica Bleibtreu, Elmar Wepper, Nadja Uhl, Birgit Minichmayr and Felix Eitner, will begin shooting at locations in Berlin, Bavaria and Japan in spring 2007.

It will be produced by Munich-based Olga Film who had worked with Doerrie more than 20 years ago on on her international breakthrough Men.

Majestic will release the film in German cinemas at the beginning of 2008.

Meanwhile, a Spring 2007 release is planned for Adolph's directorial debut about four confidence tricksters, which has been shown at festivals in Nyon, Munich, Sheffield, Kassel and Luenen and will also screen at the IDFA in Amsterdam later this month.

In the summer, Herrmann and Groenewold had announced that their new producer-distributor - now known as Majestic Filmproduktion and Majestic Filmverleih - had come onboard three new German feature projects as co-producer and distributor:

* Philipp Stoelzl's Alpine drama about climbing the North face of the Eiger in 1936, Nordwand, to be produced with Medienkontor Berlin, Austria's DOR-Film and Switzerland's Triluna Film

* Oscar-winner Florian Gallenberger's Second World War drama John Rabe, which will be produced with Hofmann & Voges Entertainment, EOS Entertainment and broadcaster ZDF as a feature film and two-part mini-series

* Sherry Hormann's adaptation of Waris Dirie's 1997 bestselling autobiography Desert Flower (Wuestenblume) in co-production with Peter Herrmann's MTM West.
