Rocker Marilyn Manson will attend Berlin'sEuropean Film Market to present his directorial debut to buyers - $4.2m ( 3.5m Euros) Phantasmagoria - The Visions Of Lewis Carroll,in which Manson will play the author of Alice In Wonderland.

With French sales agent Wild Bunch on board - WB partnerAlain de la Mata is producing through his blueLightlabel - Manson is ready for a summer shoot for the film, which will tie thelife of Lewis into his famous poem, Phantasmagoria.

According to de la Mata, Manson has put his musical careeron hold to focus on the film, which he has also written and will score. "It'skind of arthouse horror," said the producer, "whatpeople expect from Manson, they're going to get here."

With further details to be revealed at the Berlinevent, Wild Bunch will commence pre-sales and conclude financing at the EFM.Apart from confirming that Manson will grow his eyebrows to play the Oxforddon, de la Mata pointed to the rock star's experience in directing his ownvideos and his work as an artist in varied media as proof that "he is ready"to direct his first feature.

The 36-year-old Ohio-born gothic rocker has also spent thelast year working on costumes and make-up, according to de la Mata: "Hedidn't want to wait for Cannes todo this, he's ready now."

Wild Bunch is aiming for an autumn 2006 wrap for the shoot.

De la Mata's blueLight is alsoclose to finalising Finnish director Jukka-Pekka Valkeapaa's The Visitor, $2m (1.7m Euros) project at Rotterdam'sCineMart co-production market. A Cannes Cinefondation script, The Visitor is now set to star SomethingLike Happiness's Pavel Liska and is set for an Estonian shoot this summer. Set inrural Finlandin the first half of the 20th century, Liska willplay a mysterious visitor who arrives wounded at a farmhouse run by a woman andher son.
