The former Senator for Connecticut was one of several new inductees in a list that includes Verizon Digital Media Services David Rips.

The American Film Institute board is scheduled to meet on Thursday (6).

The following members have been voted to return for new three-years terms are: Lisa Arpey (American Airlines), Todd Bradley (Hewlett-Packard), Brad Grey (Paramount), Jonathan Miller (News Corp), Frank Pierson (artistic director of the AFI Conservatory), Anne Sweeney (Disney-ABC Television Group), Thomas Tull (Legendary Pictures), Michael Wright (Turner Entertainment) and Roger Enrico (DreamWorks Animation), who was re-elected to the AFI board of directors for a new term.

Sony Corp chairman and CEO Sir Howard Stringer chairs the 62-member board of trustees and Robert A Daly, former Warner Bros chairman and CEO, chairs the the 21-member AFI board of directors, which acts as an executive committee.

The AFI board of directors also sit on the AFI board of trustees.
