Ted Mundorff hasbeen named vice president and head film buyer at Landmark Theatres, where hewill be responsible for all booking and buying in the chain's circuit.

Mundorff waspreviously at Pacific Theatres for 26 years and served most recently as vice presidentof film.

He is credited with developing and implementing thehighly successful Grove Theatre's policy of playing both specialisedand studio film releases, making it one of the most sought after cinemas in theUS.

'It's our privilege to welcome such a highlyrespected executive as Ted to Landmark,' Landmark Theatres executive vicepresident Bert Manzari said in a statement.

'His wealth ofexperience in film buying will be a tremendous asset to thecompany.'

'It'sbeen a longtime goal of mine to head up a film department for a leadingspecialised film exhibitor, so it's an honour to join Landmark at thistime as the company continues to expand into new markets,' addedMundorff, who starts work today (14) and will join the Landmark team atSundance.
