The 3rd 'Britspotting' British Independent Film Festival in Berlin awarded audience prizes for the first time this year, with the Best Feature Film category won by Dom Rotheroe's feature debut My Brother Tom which took home Euros 13,000 in prize-money donated by Das Werk and Metropolitan TV.

The prize for Best Short Film, meanwhile, went to Simon Hook's Knit Your Own Karma with prize-money of Euros 500 donated by the British Embassy in Berlin.

The Britspotting festival, which included screenings of new British films and a retrospective dedicated to director Ben Hopkins, also featured a one-day edition of the Lo-To-No filmmaking seminar by Raindance Filmfestival's Elliot Grove.

The event was attended by over 120 budding filmmakers and was rounded off by a pitching session to invited experts including Brigitta Manthey (Filmboard Berlin-Brandenburg), Carl-Erdmann Schoenfeld (WOW Productions), Jo Ashton-Jones (Road Movies Filmproduktion), Milada Rybarova (Senator Entertainment), and Screen International's Germany correspondent Martin Blaney.
