Former Canal Plus executive Nathalie Bloch Laine has joined Luc Besson and Pierre-Ange Le Pogam’s EuropaCorp. as a producer, the company announced on Monday.

In a statement, Europa said Bloch Laine would work with the company’s existing stable of producers with the aim of developing film and TV projects and increased investments.

Bloch Laine is a 20-plus year veteran of Canal Plus where she notably occupied the post of director of French film acquisitions for the channel from 1996-2005. Her latest role at Canal was as deputy director of production at sales, production and finance arm StudioCanal.

Projects in which Bloch Laine recently had a hand at StudioCanal include Remi Besancon’s The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life, Fabien Onteniente’s Disco, Jean Becker’s Dialogue Avec Mon Jardinier, Pascal Thomas’ Le Crime Est Notre Affaire and Paolo Sorrentino’s Il Divo.

Bloch Laine’s arrival at Europa will see the studio expand its lineup with varied genre films.
