Continuing its thrust into filmmaking, Los Angeles-based New FilmsInternational will co-produce three projects from writer-director Jon Keeyesand his producing partner Brandon Baker through Keeyes' Highland MystEntertainment.

New Films will retain all worldwide distribution rights to theprojects, which kick off with Keeyes' previously announced thriller Living& Dying, whichwrapped recently in Dallas and stars Edward Furlong, Michael Madsen, Bai Ling,Arnold Vosloo and Jordana Spiro.

The other two as yet unannounced projects will be a thriller and asupernatural drama.

New Films' executive vice president Ron Gell and presidentNesim Hason will serve as producers on the slate for New Films with Keeyes andBaker producing for Highland Myst.

Production executive Mark Clark will develop and shepherd theprojects for New Films under the deal brokered by attorney Craig Kessler.

"We are pleased to announce Living and Dying as the first project of a three-picturedeal we signed with Jon and it marks a continuation of our production divisionlaunched over a year ago," Gell said.

Keeyes, a former entertainment reporter, made his screenwritingand directorial debut with the 2002 horror title American Nightmare, and followed up with the dark comedy SuburbanNightmare, and horrortitle Hallow's Endwith Baker.

Keeyes is managed by Treasure Entertainment.
