Ang Lee, David Conley join 3D Creative Summit line-up
Ang Lee, who scooped this year’s Best Director Oscar for Life of Pi, is to speak at the inaugural 3D Creative Summit alongside the film’s VFX consultant, David Conley.
Lee will discuss the award-winning film and whether he will return to the 3D format on future projects via a live link-up.
Conley, who has also worked on Cloverfield, Terminator Salvation and Pirates of the Caribbean, will be at the event in London, which will be held at the BFI from March 27-28.
Also joining the line-up is Frank Passingham, DoP at Aardman Animations, who will recall how the production company approached their first 3D feature, Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists.
As previously reported, the event’s speakers also include Vision3’s Chris Parks talking about Jack The Giant Slayer, David Attenborough discussing Galapagos, and Ben Timlett talking about A Liar’s Autobiography.
Other speakers include Park Road Post’s Phil Oatley, who will be speaking in the UK for the first time on his work on films such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Robert Neuman, Stereoscopic Department Head for Walt Disney Animation Studios, who will highlight work from Wreck-it Ralph.
Ravensbourne and the International 3D Society are organising the two day summit.
