The network has signed a deal with Eros India to premiere films before other channels.

Star Network has signed a deal with Eros India allowing them to premiere certain films from Eros’ slate before other channels.

The network, owned by Rupert Murdoch, will premiere films that have already been released, such as Milind Ukey’s Paathshala, as well as forthcoming films, such as romantic comedy Anjaana Anjaanee, as part of the licensing deal.

The deal follows other television syndication deals for Eros films to be broadcast on the Star Network including Veer and Housefull.

Jyoti Deshpande, CEO of Eros, said: “Eros is really excited about this deal as Star is a great home to showcase our content and it allows us to go into 2010-11 having pre-licensed some of our content through satellite television broadcast and syndication.”

“For us, this represents yet another momentous deal in our continuing and fruitful business relationship with Eros and will allow us to market our network premieres in advance not only to our audiences worldwide but also to our advertisers and sponsors,” said Sameer Rao, general manager of Star Gold.
