Appointment of former politician Krohn is effective from August 1, 2011

The Finnish Film Foundation has re-appointed its MD Irina Krohn for a successive and final five-year term.

There were a total of 12 applicants for the post, five of which were interviewed.

A statement from the foundation stressed the need “to ensure that local films carry on providing experiences for audiences in Finland and – more and more – abroad” and urged “proactive strategic initiatives in order to secure the quality and volume of local films”.
