Spyglass president Jonathan Glickman has joined his longtime colleagues Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum at MGM, where he becomes president of the motion picture group.

Effective immediately, Glickman, son of former MPAA head Dan Glickman, will oversee the slate and identify opportunities with other studios.

He will report to co-chairmen and CEOs Barber and Birnbaum and begin forming the motion picture group immediately.

“Jonathan represents the best in the business,” Barber and Birnbaum said in a statement. “We recognised his talent, taste and acumen when we first hired him 12 years ago at Spyglass and can’t wait to continue the journey with him here at MGM.”

“Between MGM’s storied history, the promise of the new leadership team and the chance to continue working directly with Gary and Roger, I can’t wait to get started,” Glickman said.

Glickman joined Spyglass Entertainment as president of production in 1998. In 2003 he was promoted to president of the company.
