Buyers dig for Films Boutique's Oro

EXCLUSIVE: Berlin based sales company Films Boutique had closed its first deals on new feature La Jaula De Oro [pictured] by Diego Quemada-Diez.

The film, which will premiere in Un Certain Regard, is eligible for the Camera D’Or.

French rights have now been acquired by French distributor Pretty Pictures. Films Boutique’s CEO Jean-Christophe Simon negotiated the deal with James Velaise, CEO of Pretty Pictures.

Produced by Inna Payan, Luis Salinas & Edher Campos, La Jaula tells the story of three teenagers from Guatemala travelling through Mexico to the USA.

“Diego Quemada-Diez has accomplished a truly beautiful and moving portrait of the tragic ongoing situation of the Central American youth in search of a better life. We are delighted to be distributing Diego’s ever so powerful first film,” Pretty Pictures’ James Velaise commented.

Films Boutique also closed a deal for Benelux with Wild Bunch Benelux. The deal was negotiated by Zyanya Draijer on behalf of Wild Bunch Benelux.
