CBS Films acquires US rights to latest Coen Brothers release
The distributor has acquired US rights to the Oscar-winning film-makers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. StudioCanal holds international sales rights. Separately, Samuel Goldwyn has boarded Home Run.
Joel and Ethan Coen wrote and directed Inside Llewyn Davis and produced alongside Scott Rudin.
Oscar Isaac stars as an aspiring musician in the 1960s New York folk scene. The key cast includes Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, F Murray Abraham and Justin Timberlake.
T Bone Burnett produced the soundtrack, which includes music performed by Isaac, Marcus Mumford and Timberlake. Robert Graf served as executive producer and Burnett served as executive music producer.
CBS Films negotiated with UTA Independent Film Group for the rights. The distributor did not say when it would release the film, although an awards run would seem likely.
