IFC Films has acquired US rights here to two films from Rezo - Xavier Dolan’s Un Certain Regard entry Heartbeats and Antoine Blossier’s Prey.
The New York-based company will release Heartbeats through its IFC In Theaters theatrical and VOD day-and-date channel, while Prey will go out through the recently launched IFC Midnight label.
Director of acquisitions and co-productions Lizzie Nastro negotiated the deals with Rezo head of international sales Sebastien Chesneau.
Heartbeats is Dolan’s second film in two years to play in Cannes after I Killed My Mother and tells of two friends who form an obsession with a new arrival in Montreal. Dolan, Monia Chokri and Niels Schneider star.
Prey tells the story of a family at a rural retreat who realise they are being hunted. Gregoire Colin stars.
