Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired Sundance premiere After Tiller. Separately, Tribeca Film has picked up What Richard Did, The Cinema Guild has acquired Centro Historico and Viramundo and RBC Film Group and Alternate Ending Studios will release The Kill Hole.

Martha Shane’s and Lana Wilson’s directorial debut After Tiller [pictured] premiered in January in Park City and will get an awards season qualifying run when O-Scope launches a nationwide theatrical release followed by VoD, digital, and DVD.

The film explores the subject of third-trimester abortions in the wake of the 2009 assassination of practitioner Dr George Tiller. The procedure is now performed by only four doctors in the US.

David Laub and Dan Berger of O-Scope negotiated the North American deal with Cinetic on behalf of Shane and Wilson, who also served as producers.

Tribeca concluded a North American deal with Protagonist Pictures on Lenny Abrahamson’s drama What Richard Did following the drama’s success at the Irish Film & Television Awards, where it won for best film, director, screenplay, actor and editing.

Newcomer Jack Reynor and Róisín Murphy star alongside Sam Keeley and Lars Mikkelsen in the adaptation of Kevin Powers’ book Bad Day In Blackrock about wealthy Dublin teenagers who get involved in an accidental killing.

Ed Guiney produced and Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures served as executive producer. Tribeca Film plans a spring theatrical and digital release day-and-date release.

The Cinema Guild has picked up digital and non-theatrical US rights to omnibus film Centro Historico and documentary Viramundo about the Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil. Both titles will launch in spring after The Cinema Guild concluded negotiations with Urban Distribution International.

RBC Film Group and Alternate Ending Studios brings will release Mischa Webley’s thriller The Kill Hole theatrically in the US on Mar 15 followed by DVD on Apr 9. Chadwick Boseman, Billy Zane, Tory Kittles and Peter Greene star. Fischbach, Perlstein, Lieberman & Almond on behalf of RBC Film Group and Gray Krauss Stratford Des Rochers on behalf of Alternate Ending Studios brokered the deal with Baker Productions & Representation for the film-makers. Osiris handles international sales.
