Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired US rights from Submarine to Murderball director Dana Adam Shapiro’s narrative feature film debut Monogamy.

Oscilloscope will release the film in theatres in early 2011. Monogamy premiered at Tribeca and stars Chris Messina as a bored photographer about to get married who becomes obsessed with a sexy exhibitionist. Rashida Jones and Meital Dohan also star.

Canadian rights are still available for Monogamy, which won Tribeca’s Best New York Narrative Award.

Shapiro and Evan M Wiener co-wrote the screenplay and Shapiro, Jeff Mandel, Randy Manis and Tom Heller produced.
