Stanley Tucci and Chris Cooper have joined the cast of The Company You Keep, which Voltage Pictures is selling in Toronto.

Robert Redford will direct and stars alongside Shia LaBouef, Julie Christie, Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte and Sundance breakout Brit Marling.

Lem Dobbs adapted The Company You Keep from the novel by Neil Gordon about a former Weather Underground member who is pursued by a reporter hell-bent on exposing his identity as a former political radical and his involvement in a botched robbery.

Tucci will play the reporter’s editor while Cooper plays the brother of Redford’s character who takes his niece under his wing when his brother goes underground to evade the FBI.

Redford is producing with Voltage chief Nicolas Chartier and Bill Holderman. Craig J Flores serves as executive producer.

The Company You Keep was originally set up at Fox Searchlight before Voltage and Redford’s Wildwood took over.
