XLrator Media has acquired all North American rights to the Southern Gothic thriller Holy Ghost People following the recent world premiere at SXSW.

Mitchell Altieri – who along with Phil Flores is known as The Butcher Brothers – directed from a screenplay he and Flores co-wrote with Kevin Artigue and Joe Egender.

Holy Ghost People follows a 19-year-old girl on a quest for her missing sister who enlists the help of an alcoholic former Marine and ventures into the Appalachian Mountains where they encounter a religious sect.

Emma Greenwell and Brendan McCarthy star. Jeffrey Allard, Flores, Altieri, Egender and Artigue produced and LC Nussbeck served as executive producer.

XLrator Media head Barry Gordon brokered the deal with Paradigm Finance Group.
