Europa Distribution's Isabelle Obadia dies at age 47

Isabelle Obadia died on June 17 after a nine-month battle with cancer.

The Paris-based executive had handled business affairs for Europa Distribution.

After graduating from HEC / Paris II Pantheon Sorbonne with a masters in international tax law, she began a career in the industry as tax lawyer. In 2002, she joined Les Films du Losange in the international sales department. In 2005, she joined Groupe One, the international sales company directed by Daniel Marquet, then created with him Groupe Deux, a production company. In summer 2008, she joined Adeline Monzier at Europa Distribution, becoming the Head of Business Affairs. Obadia and Monzier also launched their own company Black Rabbit Film in 2011, which ran the US in Progress initiative in Wroclaw and Paris, and also produced the short film L’Heritage by Michael Terraz.

Adeline Monzier of Europa Distribution wrote in an email to colleagues: “Everyone who crossed her path in Paris or in festivals will remember her beautiful smile, her warmth, her kindness, her generosity. From now on, she will be part of our heads, of our hearts, and the best way to honor her memory is to do what she always did: work with passion and be grateful to be alive.”
