The film discovery platform has brought on Amy Elkins for the newly created role of evp of strategy and advertising and Amy Smith as its first US director of advertising.

Elkins is the former head of digital at MEC in Los Angeles, where she led interactive theatrical and home entertainment media campaigns for Paramount and DreamWorks Animation.

She reports to Moviepilot founder and CEO Tobi Bauckhage and will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of the Los Angeles business and form partnerships with the studios.

Smith joins from Amazon Media Group where she was senior account executive for IMDb, Amazon, Mobile and Kindle and will drive new business and revenue and secure social media marketing campaigns with the studios that utilise the company’s new proprietary audience definition tool, Q.

Moviepilot top brass also announced they will form an advisory group to steer the company as it strengthens its presence in Hollywood. John W. Gibbons, who led monetisation at IMDb for 10 years, has also joined the team.
