Emmanuelle star Sylvia Kristel’s [pictured] life is to be told in a new feature film.

Producers Paul Voorthuysen of PVPictures and Pim van Collem of Dutch Features have announced their collaboration on the biopic of Kristel.

The feature project, tentatively called Sylvia Kristel: Object of Desire, aims for a 2015 release. Her only son Arthur Kristel will serve as a consultant to the production.

“Long before Fifty Shades of Grey, Sylvia Kristel sparked sensual imaginations all over the world. She was catapulted to fame by her iconic role as Emmanuelle, which symbolised the sexual revolution of the 1970s. But it was a fame she never fully learned to live with. Battling addictions and the ghosts of her past, she found herself typecast in erotic roles, acting jobs simply to make money. It’s a tragic story that deserves to be told, though we will also show the brightness in her life,” commented Voorthuysen.

Dutch born actress Sylvia Kristel is best known to millions all over the world as the star of the erotic Emmanuelle film series in the seventies. During her career she has worked on more than 50 international feature films and survived stormy relationships with British actor Ian McShane and Belgian top author Hugo Claus. She died at the age of 60 in October last year.
