The veteran independent producers are formally joining forces after working together on such films as Blue Valentine and the upcoming The Place Beyond The Pines.

Electric City Entertainment launches with a multi-million dollar fund to make films in the $10-30m range and the first to go are: Hate Mail, the new project from Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden; Coward, which David Slade will direct from the graphic novel; and Big Eyes with Tim Burton.

The company has also lined up the HBO series Muscle adapted by regular collaborator Derek Cianfrance.

Joining Electric City Entertainment are Crystal Powell and Katie McNeill to head production and Mark Tuohy, who takes charge of development. 

“Lynette and I have been fortunate to be able to repeatedly discover and nurture new talent, while also having the opportunity of working with distinguished and established filmmakers,” Patricof said.

“In developing Electric City Entertainment, our goal is to continue this tradition and produce award-winning movies that will play on a global platform,” Howell (pictured) added.
