The director of California Solo will adapt Laurie Sandell’s Eisner Award-nominated graphic novel through his company Zambry Films and plans to direct.

The Impostor’s Daughter is based on Sandell’s life and recounts how she grew up in awe of her father’s tall stories of academic triumph and combat heroism only to learn they were all fabrications.

“I was drawn to The Impostor’s Daughter because it’s an extremely unique thriller – and it’s all true,” said Lewy. “Laurie’s written such an engrossing, intimate book. The first time I picked it up, I read it in one sitting.”

The Impostor’s Daughter is a very personal book that means a lot to me,” said Sandell.  “I’m thrilled that Marshall Lewy is taking it on and bringing his vision of it to the big screen.”
