Ted Fields and Radar Pictures have boarded the Chicago-based drama The Legitimate Wiseguy.

Nicholas Celozzi wrote the screenplay, which is said to be in the vein of A Bronx Tale and centres on the screenwriter’s experiences from the time he went to Hollywood in search of acting work.

The young hopeful was sponsored by Tony Spilotro, the mob enforcer for the Chicago Outfit in Vegas whose character was portrayed by Joe Pesci in Casino.

Celozzi and Dimitri Logothetis will produce The Legitimate Wiseguy alongside Fields.
