Les Miserables, Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook are among the big nominees for the International Press Academy’s 2012 Satellite Awards.

Joining the big three on the IPA’s list of best motion picture nominees are Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Skyfall, Moonrise Kingdom, The Sessions, Life of Pi and Zero Dark Thirty.

Nominated for the international film Satellite Award are Austria’s Amour, Denmark’s A Royal Affair, France’s The Intouchables, Belgium’s Our Children, Norway’s Kon-Tiki, South Korea’s Pieta, Romania’s Beyond the Hills, Canada’s War Witch and Italy’s Caesar Must Die.

Up for the animated film award are ParaNorman, Wreck-It Ralph, Rise of the Guardians, Brave, Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, Frankenweenie and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.

The feature documentary nominees are The Central Park Five, The Pruitt-Igoe, The Gatekeepers, Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, West of Memphis, Chasing Ice, Marina Abromovic: the Artist is Present and Searching for Sugarman.

The nominated directors are David O Russell for Silver Linings Playbook, Ben Affleck for Argo, Kim Ki-Duk for Pieta, Ben Lewin for The Sessions, Steven Spielberg for Lincoln and Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty.

The IPA, an organization of US and international media representatives, gave its actress nominations to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook, Emilie Dequenne for Our Children, Keira Knightley for Anna Karenina, Emanuelle Riva for Amour, Laura Birn for Purge, Laura Linney for Hyde Park on the Hudson and Jessica Chastain for Zero Dark Thirty.

Actor nominations went to John Hawkes for The Sessions, Omar Syu for The Intouchables, Hugh Jackman for Les Miserables, Joaquin Phoenix for The Master, Denzel Washington for Flight, Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln and Bradley Cooper for Silver Linings Playbook.
