Also, Horror Channel strikes five-film deal with Revolver Entertainment.

Paul McEvoy, co-founder of UK fantasy/horror film festival FrightFest, has now joined the programming team at UK cable channel Zone Horror, which is being rebranded Horror Channel as of Monday.

Also, the channel has struck a deal with UK distributor Revolver Entertainment for a slate of five horror titles: Diagnosis Death starring Bret McKenzie and Rhys Darby; Paddy Breathnach’s Red Mist; Dominic Purcell-starring The Grave Dancers; thriller Mega Snake; and The Ferryman starring Kerry Fox and John Rhys-Davies.

“Following last year’s successful rebranding of our other UK entertainment channels, we were aiming to create a brand refresh for Zone Horror that reflects similar design values, without alienating the dedicated audience base who appreciate the channel’s origins,” says Chris Sharp, Chello Zone’s Chief Programming Officer. He added, “We’re delighted to welcome Paul McEvoy to the team and he’s sure to be a huge asset for the channel with his unique expertise and sheer enthusiasm for the horror genre.”

Chello Zone acquired the independent Horror Channel in October 2004 and had rebranded it Zone Horror in 2006.
