The film is directed by Otto Rosing and Torben Bech and stars Lars Rosing and Angunnguaq Larsen.

The Works International it has snapped up the world sales rights to Sundance favourite, Nuummioq, the first Greenlandic/Inuit feature film.

Nuummioq is the bittersweet story of a regular guy who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. He keeps the news to himself and takes off on a boat trip with his cousin – who wants to shoot a commercial about Greenland.

The film is directed by Otto Rosing and Torben Bech and stars Lars Rosing and Angunnguaq Larsen. It is produced by Mikisoq H. Lynge of 3900 Pictures.  XYZ are handling North American rights and negotiated that deal with The Works.

Nuummioq is a truly beautiful and unique gem. It’s a first in many different ways. It’s also very much in the tradition of great contemporary Scandinavian cinema which brings to mind names like Kaurismaki and Lone Scherfig, and films like Noi Albinoi, 101 Reykyavik, Italian for Beginners and Lovers of the Arctic Circle — but ultimately it’s just supremely heart-warming and life-affirming,” said Carl Clifton, MD of The Works International.
