EXCLUSIVE: Dominic Brunt directs, Victoria Smurfit stars in Metrodome production.

Shooting is underway in West Yorkshire on director Dominic Brunt’s revenge-thriller The Taking, one of the new films on the slate of newly minted UK sales outfit Metrodome International.

Victoria Smurfit, star of NBC’s Dracula, will star alongside Joanne Mitchell and Jonathan Slinger in the story of two women who turn the tables on a vicious loan shark.

Metrodome International, which co-produces with Mitchell-Brunt Films, will be shopping the project to buyers at Cannes. Metrodome Distribution will release in the UK.

The film is produced by Brunt, Jezz Vernon, Joanne Mitchell, Michael Lacey, Jennifer Handorf and Helen Grace. Executive producers are Martin Campbell and Kwesi Dickson.

The shoot is due to wrap on May 18.

Metrodome International head of sales and acquisitions Caroline Couret-Delègue said: ‘”The Taking is a powerful female lead movie that tackles the zeitgeist issues of debt and class warfare in a violent, thrilling auteur project. We are delighted to introduce this film at Cannes.”

Emmerdale star Brunt previously directed 2012 horror Before Dawn.
