Production began last week in Los Angeles on Focus Features’ untitled film starring Ben Stiller for writer-director Noah Baumbach.

Focus Features holds worldwide rights to the project, which Scott Rudin and Jennifer Jason Leigh are producing. Baumbach wrote the screenplay from a story idea he hatched with Leigh.

Stiller plays a man who house-sits at his brother’s home in Los Angeles, where he and falls for his brother’s assistant. Greta Gerwig plays the love interest and Rhys Ifans, Mark Duplass, Brie Larson, Juno Temple and Leigh round out the key cast.

Rudin produced Baumbach’s most recent film Margot At The Wedding. Baumbach earned a best screenplay Oscar nomination for The Squid And The Whale.

‘It’s a privilege and a pleasure to finally be making a movie with Scott, Jennifer and Noah, and one that will showcase Ben as an actor,’ Focus CEO James Schamus said. ‘This script has the hallmarks of Noah’s best work, and then some; heart and soul interlaced with biting wit. Film-goers worldwide will find themselves emotionally engaged by and with these splendidly realised characters.’
