Shepperton Studios-based Opix Films Ltd is again working with Irish director Kit Ryan on Toy Soldiers. The project, about child soldiers in Africa, will shoot in Cape Town starting October 2008.

Ryan's last comedy thriller with Opix and Silver Pictures, Botched starring Stephen Dorff, went to Warner Bros in the US and Optimum for the UK.

Opix is also developing Dementamania, a dark thriller with producers James Ryan and Anis Shlewet. Shlewet also wrote the screenplay, which doesn't have a director attached yet. Opix is planning an autumn shoot in Northern Ireland.

Also shooting in Ireland starting in August is Opix's drama Consequences, which Terence Ryan will produce and direct. That project is based on the true story of 1992 murders in an Irish town, seen through the eyes of the killer's sister. Terence Ryan's past films include The Brylcreem Boys and Spike Milligan's Puckoon.
