Perrine Teze, managing director of Miramax-TF1 joint French distribution venture, TFM Distrbution, is planning to leave her post and head back to the TF1 Group.

According to widespread industry rumours, Teze, who is pregnant, has apparently decided to slow down her pace and will stay within the cinema arm of TF1 albeit away from the hectic schedule of the start-up distributor. The move is said to be entirely amicable.

Frontrunner to replace Teze is believed to be Jean-Paul Rougier, who recently left his position as managing director at UIP France.

Teze is something of an industry veteran, although a young one. She previously ran TF1 International's sales division and originally cut her teeth at the now defunct Ciby 2000 in London.

TFM was unveiled at Cannes last year amid much fanfare. The company's main aim is to release Miramax and TF1 titles in France. Although TFM has yet to strike box-office gold, the upcoming slate looks promising, including awards darlings Chicago and The Hours and George Clooney's directing debut Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind along with Kill Bill which marks Quentin Tarantino's return later this year.
