She replaces Sarah Calderon who has left to join Karma Films

Olimpia Pont Chafer has been appointed head of international sales for Coproduction Office. The Paris and Berlin based company made the announcement over the weekend. Pont Chafer previously headed the Coproduction’s marketing operations and also handled sales for Spain and Latin America.

In her new role, she will replace Sarah Calderon who has left Coproduction to join Karma Films. Pont Chafer remains in charge of Spain and Latin America, and will also take over sales for several major European territories including France, Germany, and Italy.

The executive began her career with Spain’s Alta Films before moving on to festival programming at Mexico’s FICCO, the Sevilla European Film Festival, and Valencia’s Cinema Jove. She joined Coproduction Office in 2007.

Pont Chafer will report to Coproduction Office founder and managing director Philippe Bober. “Olimpia has deep knowledge of the films through working with them on the marketing side. It will be a natural fit,“ Bober said of the appointment.

In Cannes, Coproduction Office’s slate will include new films by Cristi Puiu and Kornel Mundruczo, among others.
