UK producer Nik Powell has been re-elected by the general assembly of the European Film Academy (EFA) as the institution's chairman for another two years, with Berlinale director Dieter Kosslick and French producer Humbert Balsan also confirmed in their posts as deputy chairmen.

The 15-person EFA board also welcomed three new members: Prokino's Stephan Hutter (German distributor of EFA award-winner Amelie), the Spanish actress Assumpta Serna and the Dutch film producer Els Vandevorst.. The board also includes: Katrin Cartlidge (actress, UK), Adriana Chiesa di Palma (sales agent, Italy), Roberto Cicutto (distributor/producer, Italy), Pierre-Henri Deleau (festival director, France), Ulrich Felsberg (producer, Germany), Dusan Makavejev (director, Yugoslavia), Antonio P. Perez (producer, Spain), Istvan Szabo (director, Hungary) and Vibeke Windelov (producer, Denmark),

In addition, the EFA announced that the 15th European Film Awards will be held in Rome on December 7, 2002.
